Heating and Cooling - Liquid Refreshment for everyone

Now comes the odd part of putting the engine back on life-support while adding a bit of creature-comfort with Air Conditioning.  When I was search for a suitable cooling solution I was thinking about getting a custom radiator to fit my car. The only problem was that the GT500 engines demand all the cooling you can throw at it.  Couple that with the intercooler and it's associated heat exchanger and things start to get interesting really quick.  So I decided it might be easier to take an aftermarket radiator for the GT500 and make my car fit that.  Luckily I ran into Van down at Revan Racing for some great GT500 cooling products.  I probably drove him nuts a couple of times with alot of questions, but you'll find out why soon enough.
At this time I also started looking for a good A/C system.  I eventually settled on a setup from Classic Auto Air.  Those people were more than happy to combine parts from multiple kits for a custom kit for me.  I'm shooting to have all those items mocked up by the end of February.  Anyways, I intro'ed long enough.  On with the show!

Cooling the monster

Picture
I knew if I wanted to have an enjoyable ride I would have to figure out a way to cool the motor properly, and also give me a bit of relief from the South-east Summers.  Again, every support part for this motor is ridiculously oversized.  But with my trusty welder at hand, I was bound and determined to get it all crammed in there.

Feeding the Blast Furnace

Picture
With the cooling aspects sorted out, it was time to get a bit of air to the belly of the beast.  Hopefully my engine won't become a real blast furnace, cause that would be REALLY BAD.  But in the same sense, something good with a bit of air goes in, and something really great comes out the other end.  So onto another massive sheet metal project...

Creature Comfort

Picture
Ahh nothing beats a nice drive with the windows rolled down.  That's until it rains, gets hot, or turns chilly.  At that point all you really care about is how fast you can get to where you're going to get comfortable once again.  At least that is how it used to be.  I wanted to make sure I had a nice A/C unit to combat these sweltering summers here in the Southeast USA, so I picked up this little gem from Classic Auto Air.  This unit turned out to be alot smaller than I originally though, so that gave me alot of breathing room to mess with.  Meaning I could rework the firewall to give me more room for the engine.  Oh, and give a round of applause for our sexy model, Jeremy.  You can click his face to see how this goes in.

The Gas tank - and a crappy company

Picture
I decided to create a seperate page just to rant about my gas tank and the freaking retards I had to deal with to get it.  The short is it's a 22-gallon stainless steel tank with two in-tank fuel pumps. If you don't want to hear me rant and tear a company a new one just skip this page.  But if you're really curious be my guest.

Fuel Lines

This was actually fun running nice braided fuel lines.  Guess it goes back to me liking to make things look nice.  Anyways, here I show you the trick to feeding fuel to that monster motor that is just a few short weeks from coming alive once more.
